Corrections Policy
How we correct errors — openly, and with a date.
Last updated
Accuracy matters more than speed. When we get something wrong, we fix it and we say so.
What we correct
We correct factual errors, including incorrect codes, effective dates, rule numbers, figures, quotations, source attributions and statements of policy scope.
How corrections are displayed
For significant corrections, the article shows a notice near the top and a dated entry in a Corrections & updates section:
- Correction — [date]: used when the original article contained an error.
- Updated — [date]: used when the article is revised because guidance changed or new information became available.
We do not silently change important regulatory facts. Minor edits that do not affect meaning — spelling, formatting, broken links — may be made without a notice.
Superseded guidance
When guidance changes so much that the original article no longer reflects current rules, we may publish a new article and mark the original as superseded with a link to the newer one.
How to report an error
Use the contact page or the message form on any page. Please include the article URL, the statement you believe is incorrect, and a link to the source that supports the correction. We review every report.
